About the Design

Alas I've never been to Washington so most of what I know about the state I've gleaned from watching Frasier reruns. The state bird of Washington is the Willow Goldfinch which when I looked it up is another name for the western variety of the American Goldfinch. It seems fitting that a place where it rains a lot (again this all comes from Frasier) would want a nice, bright yellow bird for their state bird, though here the bird and text are depicted in white. A lightly distressed style gives this a vintage look. 20% of my earnings from this design goes to the National Audubon Society to support goldfinches of all sorts and other birds as well.
